A Piece of Alma, KS History

Built in 1887 by Joseph and Christena Brandt, Brandt House has a rich history rooted in the growth of Alma and the Rock Island Railway. Over the decades, the hotel changed ownership multiple times, operating under different names, including the Alma Hotel, and even gaining fame for its French restaurant. After sitting vacant for years, the property was purchased in 2023 and fully renovated into a seven-room boutique hotel which reopened early 2025.

Brandt House prides itself on preserving its historic charm while offering modern hospitality to today’s travelers.
