Brandt House is committed to being environmentally responsible. We seek to do our part in being sustainable and efficient. The renovations at Brandt House were designed to blend modern comforts within a historic space. We have invested in smart technologies to ensure comfort while minimizing the use of energy.

Hot Water and minimizing water waste

Nobody likes a cold shower, and at Brandt House we wanted to ensure water warmed quickly. Working with our plumbing contractor, Avery Trecek, owner of Flint Hills HVAC we selected tankless LEED-certified water heaters, which operate at a 95% efficiency rate, compared to the 80% efficiency rate of traditional units. The plumbing is designed to circulate hot water throughout the building to provide an instant hot water experience while reducing wasted water. This application uses 6 interconnected water heaters that independently adjust production to match the exact amount of hot water needed, maximizing efficiency and longevity. We paired our water heater system with Samson Shower Systems showerheads. These showerheads use just 1.5 gallons of water per minute while increasing shower pressure for users. The combination is a win-win for hot showers and water conservation.

This modern, technologically advanced system was made to fit the newly renovated Brandt House. This installation was customized to meet the structural restrictions of a historical landmark while meeting strict experience targets. This water heater system will serve Brandt House guests for a long time. This project was done by the lifelong local and local business owner, Avery Trecek, owner and operator of Flint Hills HVAC.

Smart Technologies

The hotel is networked to ensure high speed internet access to guests in every room of the hotel. The stone exterior is not the most friendly for cellular service, so we knew it would be important to keep people connected via WiFi. Each room is equipped with smart televisions allowing guests to access their favorite streaming services. Climate control is another important aspect of the experience, and we worked with our HVAC specialists at Geisler Electric to design our HVAC system. Each room has an individual thermostat allowing guests control of the temperature. The system utilizes zoned units allowing us to customize the overall climate in the building keeping environmental responsibility at the forefront. Thermostats are WiFi connected, allowing us to prepare rooms in advance of guest arrival to ensure comfort from our fingertips.

Brandt House is contactless in that we do not have staff on site 24 hours a day. Access to the building is handled through the Remote Lock system, a keyless entry system, allowing each guestroom its own set of door codes. Guests use individual codes to enter the building and their rooms. These individual codes offer secure access. Remote Lock integrates with our reservation system making the access experience seamless. To top it all off, we use a reservation system that allows guests to interact with staff via text message or by phone, whichever you prefer.
