Looking for a fun way to spend an evening, get moving, and meet new people? Join us for Boots at Brandt, our country two-step and swing dance class held every Thursday evening in October at the historic Brandt House in Alma, Kansas. Whether you’ve got two left feet or you’re a seasoned dancer, this event is the perfect mix of learning, laughter, and good old-fashioned fun.

The classes are taught by two former members of the 2017 Kansas State Swingin’ Spurs, a group known for their incredible energy and dedication to preserving country dance traditions. Their passion for teaching and easy-to-follow instruction make the evening approachable for everyone – singles, couples, and friends looking for a unique night out.

Each Thursday will begin with a one-hour lesson from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, where you’ll learn the basics of country two-step and swing dancing. Our instructors will walk you through step patterns, turns, and styling tips, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident on the dance floor. Beginners will appreciate the patient, step-by-step guidance, while more experienced dancers can focus on refining technique and adding some flair.

Once the lesson wraps up, the dance floor stays open! From 7:30 to 9:30 PM, enjoy a relaxed, social atmosphere where you can practice your new moves, sip a drink from the bar, and dance the night away under the warm glow of our historic event space.

Boots at Brandt is a wonderful way to connect with the community, try something new, and enjoy a night of movement and music. No partner? No problem — we rotate frequently during lessons so everyone gets a chance to dance.

Tickets are just $5 per couple or $3 per person at the door. Mark your calendar for every Thursday in October, grab your boots, bring a friend, and join us for a night that’s as lively as the music itself.
