Flint Hills photographer, Scott Bean, is the featured artist in Brandt House. Each guest room and the guest lounge is furnished with one of Scott’s original photographs of the Flint Hills. The photos were carefully selected to reflect the seasons, skies, and paths found in the tallgrass prairie. His work allows guests to experience the beauty and serenity of the Flint Hills from the comfort of their rooms.
We feel incredibly fortunate to display Scott’s photography at Brandt House. Not only is he a gifted artist, but he is also uncle to Tyler (owner), making this collaboration especially meaningful. His ability to capture the essence of the Flint Hills – its vast grasslands, dramatic skies, and ever-changing light – is unmatched.
Scott’s passion for the outdoors is evident in his work. He believes photography helps him connect deeply with nature, allowing him to be fully present in the moment. “I grew up in wide-open country and find peace and beauty in the prairie,” Scott shares. “There’s something calming about it, helping me keep life in perspective. I hope my photos convey that feeling to others.”
Specializing in landscapes of the Flint Hills region of Kansas, Scott documents some of the largest remaining stretch of tallgrass prairie in North America. His images transport viewers to a place of tranquility, where rolling hills meet endless skies. Through his lens, Scott captures the fleeting beauty of this unique landscape – its golden sunsets, sweeping vistas, and the quiet stillness of the prairie. His photography invites us to pause, reflect, and appreciate the timelessness of the Flint Hills.
We are honored to feature Scott’s work and invite guests to immerse themselves in the captivating scenery of the Flint Hills, brought to life through his stunning photography. Book your stay at Brandt House to see Scott’s photos in person and to get out and experience the Flint Hills for yourself.
