It is fall in the Flint Hills and we couldn’t be more excited! This season brings new opportunities to explore the Flint Hills and one of our favorite places in Wabaunsee County – Little Munchkins Pumpkin Patch! Little Munchkins is owned by a local family and is in its 17th season of family fun. What began as a field of pumpkins has grown into a weekend destination in the Flint Hills. Families flock from local towns to enjoy all that Little Munchkins has to offer.

The patch is just 1.5 miles north of Brandt House and slightly south of Interstate 70. It’s open Saturdays and Sundays 11:00 am until 6:00 pm from mid-September through October. Beginning the first Friday in October the patch is open 1:00 – 5:00 pm. While visiting you are sure to find something for everyone! There are three slides to try: the tube slides, the giant slide and the giant tube slides each offering its own kind of fun! The property has a huge orange jump pillow, petting zoo and of course, pumpkins! Lots and lots of pumpkins! Kids love the straw pit, the zip lines, and the train too. Plan to spend several hours exploring Little Munchkins and when you’re ready for a break you will find plenty of places to rest, grab a snack, and then explore some more!

Once you’ve seen and done it all, head into Alma for a bite to eat at El Corral Mexican restaurant or Gambino’s Pizza. On Saturdays you can stop by the Antique Emporium to search for treasures or visit the Wabaunsee County Historical Society & Museum. Take a scenic drive out Old K-10 Highway to Volland while the kids nap in the back. Regardless of how you spend your fall afternoon in Alma, there really is something for everyone!

Brandt House will have live music on Saturday, October 4 and October 18. We hope to see you there! Book yourself a room and spend the weekend falling into the Flint Hills!
