Made with love, from Pete

Let’s talk about Pete. He is a craftsman, he is a creative, and our favorite part? He’s Amanda and Morgan’s dad. That’s right, our dad is the craftsman behind the custom woodwork in the hotel. We approached him early in construction and asked for a lunch date. He was immediately suspicious. Using our trusty mood board, we created our own inspiration board for the custom work we wanted done in the hotel. We asked if he would consider building our check-in counter, our headboards, nightstands, and the bar. He agreed and we are thrilled to have him involved in the project!

The check-in counter is first on the list. We asked for a glass front cabinet made of wood and topped with a stone countertop. He said, sure, no problem. Part way through construction dad came back to us and said, “I have an idea about the counter top, can I change it to wood?” We agreed and cannot wait for you to see the very customized Brandt House check-in counter!

Next on the list, headboards and nightstands. We have chosen to keep clean lines and are seeking simplicity throughout the hotel decor. Headboards will be made of pine and then stained, shade still to be determined. The nightstands are floating, again, to keep it simple. No low bottoms to accidentally lose a cord or shoe! Our nightstands will be equipped with outlets for all your charging needs.

Finally, the bar. We have plans for an oak bar front and top. Pete has all the tools to round the edges and he is a sanding machine. He will make shelves for liquor bottles and we will top it off with an iron foot rail. We absolutely cannot wait for you to enjoy a cocktail with us in the coming months!

We cannot begin to express our gratitude for Dad sharing his talents with us. Having our dad involved means an added layer of personality, a deeper understanding of our hopes and dreams. He is able to take our ideas and turn them into something beautiful, all while working within the historic context of the building and guidelines. We are excited our guests will experience his gift as well.
